Phoenix Area Law Firm Puts a Total of 1,500 dollars on the Line in Newly Announced Scholarship Contest

Mushkatel, Robbins & Becker will award a $1,000 first prize and a $500 second prize to the students who write winning essays on issues surrounding law enforcement’s relationship with the communities they serve.

SUN CITY, AZ, /24-7PressRelease/ — The law firm of Mushkatel, Gobbato, & Kile, P.L.L.C., announced today that it is now accepting entries for the firm’s 2021 Scholarship Competition, which will award  $1,000 and $500 scholarships to the top two students who submit winning essays.

The topic for this year’s essay focuses on these questions:

What is your impression of law enforcement agencies’ relationships with their communities? Do those relationships need improvement? If so, how could they be improved? What solutions exist?

“Our goal is to foster discussion about the relationship between police agencies and communities while, at the same time, helping young people pursue higher education,” firm leaders said in a statement released online.

Eligible students should submit an original 600-word essay on the topic, along with transcripts and other information, no later than Friday, May 28, 2021.

The competition is open to students who are U.S. residents or students at U.S. schools who fall within these three categories:

  • High school juniors and seniors
  • Students currently enrolled in two-year or four-year colleges or universities
  • Students currently enrolled in graduate school

The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship check made out to the school they will be attending. The second-place winner will receive a $500 scholarship check. Winners must use the award money for education-related expenses.

A selection committee will determine the winners. The winners will be notified by way of the contact information on the application, and their names will be posted on the firm’s website.
