Heather Baker-Mushkatel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001, and obtained her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 2004. Heather is an Arizona native that left the state for school, but returned home to practice law in 2004 with her primary area of focus being family law. Heather also has substantial criminal law experience. Prior to joining Mushkatel, Robbins and Becker, she practiced criminal defense with the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office, where she handled a wide variety of criminal matters, ranging from the most simple of infractions up to the most severe and complex cases. While practicing criminal defense, Heather also gained ample experience as a trial attorney.
Heather Baker-Mushkatel has served on a number of committees with the Arizona State Bar, including the Criminal Practice and Procedure Committee as well as the Mentor Committee. She previously served as an executive board member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Arizona State Bar, and was selected to be a participant in the 2012-2013 Arizona Bar Leadership Institute. Heather is also a member of the Maricopa and West Maricopa Bar Associations, and was selected to participate in the Justice at Stake judicial mentor program in 2015. Heather Baker-Muskatel has also served on several panels to educate young lawyers and law students on various aspects of law.
